When Aggregate Industries’ messy and chaotic planning application to quarry Straitgate Farm has been going on for as many years as it has, a few comings and goings in personnel involved are expected.
Given the complexity of the Straitgate site, particularly regarding groundwater, geology personnel have to date played a prominent role in the company’s struggle to produce a coherent and workable scheme.
Last year, his replacement – the Geological Manager who was in charge of documents like this and this – also left the company.
To lose one geologist connected to Straitgate might be considered careless, but to lose a second so soon after...? Some might say, snafu. Some might wonder whether Straitgate is jinxed.
Whatever the reason, it hardly instils confidence – particularly when so many private water supplies are at risk. Who is left at Aggregate Industries who knows anything about the technicalities of the site?
