Following on from a public consultation exercise, Tungsten West, the operator of the Hemerdon tin and tungsten mine near Plympton in Devon, has today announced it has been granted a permit to operate its Mineral Processing Facility – the source of complaints by local people last time the mine was operational – "within the limits previously agreed between the Company and the Environment Agency":
This is the last of the key permits required to further progress the Project.
However, earlier this month, it was also announced that the company’s CEO has resigned "with immediate effect".
Tungsten West’s plans to increase sales and HGV movements of secondary aggregates were approved by Devon County Council earlier this year.
Tungsten West has received the final permit for the Mine Processing Facility. This momentous achievement is a key milestone for our company, completing the suite of permits needed to process tungsten, tin, and aggregates.
